Rebecca Miles 6 May, 2020 NetApp acquires leading Virtual Desktop Infrastructure player, CloudJumper NetApp, a leader in cloud data services, has announced that it acquired CloudJumper, a leading cloud software company in the Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) and Remote Desktop Services (RDS) markets.

Storage giant NetApp has acquired CloudJumper, a provider of virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) and desktop as a service (DaaS) across Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform.

And, with sales of VDI accelerating due to the pandemic, we see WVD as becoming the de facto way to consume Windows and Windows applications. Technologies like CloudJumper only make it easier to get cloud-based workspace solutions like WVD and Azure to remote workers.

The fact is, as an increasing number of desktop workloads transition to the cloud, it will be more important than ever for customers to have an integrated offering, and Azure NetApp files together with CloudJumper makes a Windows Virtual Desktop deployment sing. NetApp VDS will be available immediately on NetApp Cloud Central and integrated with Azure NetApp Files and Cloud Volumes.
